The time interval specified in the basic scheduler refers to the time interval between trigger events.
Due to the effect of the polling cycle, you can expect delays in trigger events. As you have set the time interval between triggers to be 24 hours, you may expect to see the lag time accumulate. Over many days, the lag may accumulate consistently such that your recipe no longer triggers near the original desired start time. Learn more about polling cycles and "when recipes trigger" here.
If you would like to set your recipe to trigger at a specific time everyday, you should use the advanced scheduler. As you can see from the screenshot below (where the recipe is scheduled to start at 15:00 PDT everyday), the lag does not accumulate.

Recipe trigger using scheduler fires about 5 min later every day
Hi, I set up my trigger using basic scheduler to start my recipe once per day (24 hours). The time is set for 5:00 PM PDT. However, since I started this recipe, the trigger keeps firing about 5 minutes later every day i.e. 5:00, 5:03, 5:07, 5:12.. Seems like I'm overlooking something simple but I can't identify the problem..
