Yes! That is possible.
You need to add another conditional step to check if the campaign member is present then it will just update their member status.
I updated the sample recipe you're working on (see steps 12 and 13).

Adding another criteria for recipe
Hello! I am currently using this recipe: https://www.workato.com/recipes/1097604?st=559484 and it's beautiful. One addition I would like to make is adding the criteria If a Contact is in the Campaign then I would like to update their Member Status to something different. Is this possible, in very non-technical terms?
