Google Sheets Error: 'Blank Rows' or No Column Headers Error

Modified on: Fri, Sep 16, 2016 at 12:47 AM

Error:

'Blank Rows' or No Column Headers Error

Or when Google Sheet column headers does not appear as available fields in your recipe as seen below:

What does this mean?:

This is because your Google Sheets has not been set up correctly to use with Workato.

Solution:

Make sure that your Google Sheets is set up as such:

1) Fill out the necessary columns that you require (i.e. Date, Name, Account, etc) in the first row. There should not be any blank fields in between in the first row

2) Have values in the second row. This can either be your first entry of data or some sample data.

In fact, we have a sample sheet here for you to help you quickly understand the steps: http://bit.ly/1GMsDV9

Using the sample sheet the available fields should look something like this in Workato:

If your fields in Google Sheets are not showing up, simply select "Refresh schema and save" (the alternative dropdown option to the "Save" option) the recipe and you're all set!
