Solution home Recipe 101 Formula Mode Tips and Tricks

How do I keep track of what my Formula does?

Modified on: Thu, Jul 20, 2017 at 9:13 AM

After writing lengthy and complicated formula in our data fields, we may forget what the entire formula represents. This means that would have to spend time tracing and understanding the formula again, and recall the contextual significance. Furthermore,if can be very difficult for another user (e.g.client), to understand what the formula represents when it gets too lengthy or complicated.

Comments in Formula Mode

We suggest making use of comments within the data field. Once formula mode is activated, you can leave comments within the data field by starting your line with the # symbol. Any text that appears behind # will not be processed as input in the data field, but will instead be stored as comments.

Adopt the good practice of leaving comments where you write lengthy formulas, and you will find your recipes much easier to maintain.
