If you use only one connection for an App, you don't have to worry about it. But if you are like me and use multiple accounts for testing then it makes sense to pay attention to how you name and manage your connections.
- Naming the connection. Make sure you give the connection a name that is representative. For example, if you use multiple Salesforce, QuickBooks and Google accounts, name each connection that says what it is, not Google Connection 1, Google Connection 2, but Google prod account, Google Test Account and so on.
- Avoid creating multiple connections with the same credentials. This too can be confusing, and when you are creating a recipe and linking it to a connection you are not sure if it is the right one you are connected to
- The recipes automatically connect to the account that is active at the time. This may not be the one you want to connect to. I always go through the reconnect step and make sure that I am connected to the right one.
- Every once in a while, I check the connections and how many recipes are connected to them. This is a good page to visit once in a while. to get this page go to https://www.workato.com/connections
Here is an example below. The fist QuickBooks connection is not connected and is connected to 1 recipe, the second Quickbooks connection is connected to 1 recipe, the third Google Sheets connection is being used by 12 recipes and some of them are active.
