When configuring your recipe using Custom Fields, users may sometimes encounter problems:
1) Unable to see custom fields associated with your Salesforce object
2) Unknown data field error
To troubleshoot this, you need to do the following:
1) Verify that you have connected to the correct Salesforce account on Workato.
You can check your recipe connections under the Connections tab in your recipe. Ensure that the Salesforce account connected to Workato has those custom fields. Sometimes the fields are in a Production account but user is connected to Workato using Staging account. Once you have confirmed that you have the correct Salesforce account connected, refresh the schema of the recipe and check if the fields are available. You can find the button to refresh schema when you scroll to the bottom of your recipe.
2) Verify that the Salesforce Field Level Security of the custom field has been marked on the checkbox to make visible to System Administrator.
In your Salesforce account, go to Setup and search or select the custom field concerned. Click on the Set Field Level Security button to adjust settings for Profile. Again, refresh the schema of the recipe and check if the fields are available.
